every Wednesday.

Holding Hearts Bloc is a group of Portland neighbors doing mutual aid. We collect money, food, clothes, hygiene kits and time from people who can spare them, and get it to neighbors who need it.

Every Wednesday we host a free picnic at Lents Park with hot food and coffee, reusable water bottles, clothes, shoes, hygiene and medical supplies, books, art supplies and whatever else we can gather that week. Everyone is welcome, and everything we bring is free. During the week we post urgent asks here and on Instagram, and collect small gifts through Venmo.

We haven't missed a Wednesday since we started. Over the past year that has built real relationships with our neighbors, grounded in trust and respect and rooted in love. Holding Hearts Bloc welcomes anyone who believes we're all in this together. We say plainly what's needed and invite people to show up, without saviorism or spectacle.
